About Jesco Resources
A TRADITION OF EXPERIENCE THAT BEGAN IN 1929
Since its North Kansas City founding by Claude Johnson in 1929, Jesco's specialized expertise in
grease-type lubricants has remained the basis of our reputation. Self-reliance, combined with this special

expertise, provided the foundation for growth, and still
does today. This self-reliance is reflected in the fact
that Claude Johnson helped design and build much of the
production equipment. Because of this, he knew how
his equipment would work and what kind of lubricant it
could produce. The US Cavalry was one of the first Jesco
customers. We provided axle greases, gun oils and similar
products for the military, and in the process, made our reputation
for quality. As this reputation grew, our business increased
during one of the most difficult times in the nation's history.
 EXPANSION TO PROVIDE BETTER SERVICE
The first major expansion of Jesco facilities took place in 1938, just nine years after the company's
founding. The addition of new production equipment had eliminated our finished product storage area,
so a new, two story, 20,000 square foot warehouse was erected adjacent to the original building. With
more than double the space, we were now able to provide a service that's seldom offered in our and
industry. We could stock our customers' products on hand for immediate delivery. Since Jesco had developed
custom-blended the products, it made sense to keep a supply in stock to meet our customer's continuing

needs. It was a simple, somewhat costly service because Jesco carried
the inventory costs, not our customers. But it was a service well
worth the cost. It gave our customers what they wanted, and it gave it
to them immediately. In the 1950's, more equipment, products and
personnel were added. During this period, an aggressive sales and
marketing staff was created under the direction of E.R. "Dixie" Howell,
Claude Johnson's son-in-law, and Jesco's second generation.

EXPANDING OUR RESEARCH AND WAREHOUSE CAPABILITIES
An additional 50,000 square feet of warehouse space was added in 1960, 8,500 more in 1980 and
10,000 more in 1984. This brought Jesco's capacity to over 20,000,000 pounds per year, including

including more than 100 types, grades and varieties of fluid and grease products all produced by a staff of 55
men and women dedicated to quality performance. Production units are continually added as business
expands and changes. Proven manufacturing techniques have been enhanced with new technology allowing
for better control of our process stream, and precise uniformity from batch to batch. As applications change
and more is demanded of a lubricant; Jesco has invested in the testing equipment to evaluate these
performance conditions. In addition we subject each new formulation to actual commercial plant production conditions in the Jesco Pilot Plant. The sample is then subjected to further field testing and evaluation. Our laboratory staff is satisfied with the products only after the successful completion of this rigorous process

second manufacturing facility was opened in 1986. This state-of-the-art facility
includes over 55,000 square feet of working space along with 600,000 gallons
of lube oil and finished product storage located on 22 acres of land. This gives
us tremendous expansion potential and, with access to rail, highway and
waterway transportation, will carry Jesco well into the 21st century. Located
southwest of Memphis, Tennessee, Rosedale is ideally located for customers in
the southeast, and south central United States. This plant offers our customers
increased capacity, and an unprecedented degree of flexibility. A full line of
products can be manufactured with special emphasis on customer specifications
and requirements. Packaging capabilities include high-speed grease cartridge
filling, quart bottle filling and the usual pail, keg and drum, capabilities include

A TRADITION OF QUALITY AND SERVICE
Following the death of Dixie Howell in 1984, his sons Richard and John assumed the leadership of Jesco.
They both are committed to continuing the legacy of innovation and quality established by their father and
grandfather. Now in its third generation of family ownership, Jesco remains an independent company
committed to continuing the legacy of innovation and quality. At Jesco, every customer works personally
with Richard or John Howell, so action is always prompt and decisive. In 1992, a new 8,000 square foot
corporate headquarters was constructed just two blocks west of our Gentry Street manufacturing facility.
This created 50% more research space in our plant, expanded the administrative area, and improved our
conference facilities. Just give us a call and we'll be glad to arrange a special tour. Customer satisfaction
has always been the primary goal at Jesco. Today,as in 1929, we still stand by our motto: "Quality
lubricants that last."
